By attending one of the weekend retreat you will be able to totally immerse yourself in the Mindfulness Experience gaining all the benefits of peace and relaxation right there and then. At the same time you will be learning how to apply Mindfulness techniques in day-to-day life, and stressful or challenging situations so that you can brake old patterns and develop healthy new ones.
The retreats are held in a variety of locations, all are chosen to help you relax and unwind.
During a retreat you can expect:
It is the job of our minds to assess for safety and solve problems in order to keep us safe. We also create stories or explanations about ourselves, others and situations that we believe are true. Sometimes our thoughts or reactions can become highly sensitive or obsessive. Learning to question our thinking keeps us healthy and able to adapt.
Meditation and Mindful Movement
Meditation is one pathway to a Mindful state. It has been scientifically proved that meditating on a daily basis (even for just a couple of minutes) can improve both physical and mental health and wellbeing. We will practice a range of meditation techniques including breathing, body scans, creative visualisations, light visualisation, and connection with nature. Not everyone is suited to sitting still so we have included walking and other moving forms of meditation to cater for everyone's needs.
Personal Reflection Time
Take time for personal reflection and claim a space where you can simply be yourself. You may also wish to use this time to consider how you will incorporate mindfulness after the retreat.
By learning about how our brain and nervous system function we can develop greater self-acceptance, and compassion. With acceptance we can learn to respond rather than react to challenging situations by pausing, grounding ourselves and thoughtfully responding. We can also learn to set respectful limits without becoming emotionally disconnected.
Exploring new ways of doing things can sometimes bring up emotions that have been safely tucked away. Gina and her team offer kind and non-judgemental support at all times to help you process anything that comes up.
The retreat is fully catered with delicious meals that are mainly vegetarian with some meat. If you have any special dietary requirements please let us know when you make your booking.
