Gina started her career in the area of Corporate Training Consultancy. With a passion for helping people to live healthier happier lives she transitioned into counselling working for Lifeline Sydney and UnitingCare while she completed her Psychology Training. She was registered as a Psychologist in 2006 and has worked in private practice since that time. With almost 30 years experience in counselling she has trained in many modalities including: CBT, Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems, EMDR for trauma, Self-Compassion Therapy, Schema Therapy, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and more recently Neuroscience. She studies at the University of New England attaining a Bachelor of Social Science with a double major in Psychology and Sociology and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology. She complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Health.
She has a warm down to earth approach which involves supporting people in managing uncomfortable or big emotions, understanding unhelpful thinking patterns, developing solutions and strategies for difficult situations, insight into transition points in life, communication skills, and exploring childhood or family experiences that are influencing healthy life decisions now. Her clients regularly report that in addition to moving through the problems they sort help for they also have a greater sense of worth and self-confidence.
